Today’s Musing is directed to people who need to market themselves – You may think that today’s Musing only applies to people who are selling something – and you are right…however each of us is always in a place of marketing ourselves, our ideas and our abilities. Everyone is marketing themselves every day – so although this message seems directed to those in business…there is something in it that applies to everyone – whether you are marketing a service, a product, or your own needs and desires, marketing at its best isn’t limited to business – it is life!

“Marketing is the activity and processes that create, communicate, deliver, and offer exchanges that create value for consumers, customers, partners, and society in general.”

Marketing yourself and your services can feel like standing on a tightrope, teetering between authenticity and fear. I understand this struggle deeply, having supported hundreds of entrepreneurs, service providers, solopreneurs in business in overcoming the daunting specter of imposter syndrome – and thousands of people in everyday interactions. It’s a challenge to put ourselves out there, to be seen and heard in a crowded world, yet it’s precisely in this visibility that our potential shines.

Through mindset shifts and transformational practices, I’ve helped many tap into their unique voices and stories. Like most, I too faced that inner critic whispering doubts, urging me to play it safe. But what if we leaned into that fear instead? What if we recognized it as part of the journey toward authenticity?

acknowledge the fear I experience whenever I put myself forward and share with others what I can contribute.

I recognize it is holding me back from shining, and really helping others.

I can stay small and let that fear define me, or I can increase my confidence and share with authenticity  – and I chose to increase my confidence with authenticity.

will practice this today when I make a list of the strengths I have.

remember overcoming that fear when I… (your own example – something like applied for my job, or started my company, or told my partner I loved them…)

have increased my confidence, and authenticity is important to me.

am grateful for this expansion, and I am willing to expand and explore the next level of authenticity in my career and personal life.

I am thrilled to announce an opportunity to dive deeper into this journey with Tad Hargrave, a mentor I’ve admired for years. On July 15, he’ll be in Airdrie for a full day of “Marketing for Hippies.” For just $25 to reserve your seat, you’ll immerse yourself in a day designed to help you clear the clutter in your mind and bring clarity to your marketing. It’s a Pay What You Can offer, and with only 50 spots available, I encourage you to invest in yourself and your business. Let’s break down those barriers together and market our true selves with confidence and authenticity. It’s time to show the world what you have to offer!

If this resonates for you, here’s the link to register…and please pass along the invitation!
